Interested in Sports
The book, Million-Dollar Throw, is a great book to read if you are interested and involved with sports. The book shows great ways of being involved in sports and how much they mean to you. It also allows you to follow up on the football season of Nate Brodie and his team on things like Nate's stats, team stats, and the score and records of all of Nate's team season. "This was always the best of it for Nate Brodie, when he felt the slap of the ball in his hands and began to back away from the center, when he felt as if he could see the whole field, and football made perfect sense to him."(page 1) (first sentence) This quote shows how much Nate loved football and how even the little things brought joy to him when he was playing the sport he loved the most, football.
Great Friendship Story
I recommend the book, Million-Dollar Throw, because it shows how friendship will always be positive in the end and shows that you should always be loyal to one a nother. Nate is best friends with a girl in his grade named Abby. Abby and Nate have been best friends since they can remember. Abby was always there for Nate, and Nate was always there for Abby. "That throw is the thing that we all gotta believe in, Brady, what keeps us all going," Abby said. "That great things can still happen."(chapter 12)(page 88) This quote shows that Abby is always encouraging Nate and telling him that he will make the throw with no doubt, because it will benefit all of his family and somewhat herself. The friendship part of the book is very heartwarming and that is why I suggest this book if you are interested in friendships.
Fun Read
I recommend this book because it is overall a fun read and always keeps you reading. When i read I read this book I could barely take my eyes off it to stop reading because of the places it kept you hanging. It always felt like you just had to keep reading it to get further into the answer of what you were searching for. The book would make you anxious of what would happen because of how sometimes Mike Lupica (author) kept stretching things. "Why not? Nate asked himself, for the very last time He didn't hesitate. He had waited long enough. He stepped toward the target, fingers on the laces, like he was stepping up in the pocket. And released the ball. High. That's what he thought, what he was sure of when he released it. Only he was wrong." (chapter 32)(page 235) This quote shows an example of how the author stretches situations and makes you keep on reading. That is why I recommend this book to you if you are able to take the stretching's Mike Lupica offers in this book.
